A good day for Pro users of Mac

Today was a good day for pro users in the Apple Mac ecosystem. A completely redesigned Mac Pro was announced today. It’s small, round and looks kind of like a trash can, but it is a sleek and visually compelling design. At only 9″ tall and 6.5″ across, it packs a lot of punch. Equipped [...]

The Split 7 slider gets an upgrade

Just did a little upgrade to the slider, added some softer dolly track wheels and a high hat to allow for more angle adjustment. Feels pretty good, time to give it a little test.

    C100 screen shots

We have been testing out the new Canon C100, and I have to say, the image quality is quite good. The resolving detail is razor sharp, and over exposed highlights dont have such a harsh video clipping look. And at high iso, the grain looks a lot more filmic, and not so digital pixel like. And with [...]

JVC to launch super slo mo camera under $1000?

This seems to be the case. Although I have never been a big fan of JVC cameras, if this puppy pushes out full HD images at 600fps and has a Wifi hotspot for (multiple) remote client viewing, that will change real quick. Check out this article, It doesn’t give very many details, but in the [...]

    GoPro hero 3 120fps test

Here is a quick snowboarding video we  shot all on the Go Pro Hero 3. All footage was shot at 120fps at 720 with pro tune on. The slow motion sections were conformed to 23.98 in FCPX giving a clean 20% slow mo look. This footage is pretty clean, especially for such a tiny camera! #gopro #hero3 [...]

Magic Lantern releases firmware for the 7D…Finally!

After years of having Magic Lantern firmware additions to other Canon DSLR cameras, they have finally cracked the code for the 7D. It’s dual digic processors are apparently what made the hack so difficult. Not there is an alpha download out, with more functions on the way. Check it out here. I just tested it and [...]

Go pro adds 35mbps capture rates, and a flat color profile to handle highlights and shadows better. It also adds 24p frame rate to the options. Looks like a nice upgrade for Hereo 2 owners. Canon Releases the C100

The C100 is the little brother to the C300 and C500. Estimated to cost around $8000 it uses a 4:2:0 color space and records at 25mbs a sec. The interesting thing is you can record from an unaltered HDMI signal to a external recorder. This should open up some of the options for higher [...]

Solid state drive on Mac Pro

I am currently upgrading my Mac pro to Mountain Lion with a solid state drive. This will give a ton of speed to the startup disk and applications. It’s a bit tricky, and required some custom parts. Want to know how I did it? Ask me here.

    Cinema 4D

I have been using more and more of Cinema 4D lately and I have to say I am loving it. It is very easy to get nice results, even when not being an advanced user. I created this chair from scratch by tracing a still image with splines and extruding then. Then for the seats [...]
